Croatian Paralympian Davor Komar has passed away following a battle with a serious illness.
Known for his fighting spirit on the sports field, Davor represented Croatia with distinction.
World Boccia would like to extend our condolences to his family, friends, acquaintances and teammates.
Davor was Croatia’s top-ranked boccia player.
He competed with great success in the BC4 category.
He was the first Croatian to win a medal in boccia at the European Para Championships, taking gold in Rotterdam in 2023.
He also competed at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo and Paris. In Paris 2024, he reached the bronze-medal match in BC4 but narrowly lost.
He lived with muscular dystrophy from an early age and had used a wheelchair for more than three decades.
His funeral will be held on October 1 at 11 a.m. at the city cemetery in Pula, from the New Chapel.
