The Host Organising Committee of the Cairo 2023 World Boccia Africa Regional Championships were fortunate to have a recent visit from Samson Deen, African Paralympic Committee President.
Samson took over as President of African Paralympic Committee in October 2022. He is passionate about boccia and his appointment could really support the growth of the sport in Africa. Samson believes “We can win big in Africa and it shall be the most common sport in Africa.”
Plans include forming “Boccia Africa.” This will be an operational team responsible for development projects in the African region. They will organise further events, additional courses, and support programms designed to grow and strengthen boccia.
