BISFed Members will be acutely aware of the very difficult situation which has been developing in Ukraine over the last week. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Ukraine and in particular with all the boccia athletes. We have been informed that, at the moment, all the boccia athletes are safe.
Your Board has reviewed the situation in detail. The reality is that athletes from Ukraine cannot travel to boccia competitions abroad simply because their country is being invaded by Russia. We have therefore taken the decision that, regrettably and until further notice, we cannot allow Russian boccia athletes to participate in BISFed-sanctioned competitions.
