In contrast to the terrible atrocities currently happening in the Ukraine, it is humbling and comforting to see how strangers from neighbouring countries and friends from afar are helping those in the Ukraine.
In the Boccia community some of BISFed’s members are helping Ukraine athletes by organizing Visas, finding transportation to leave the Ukraine, providing accommodation in their home countries and much more. Some athletes are already safe but others are still in the Ukraine.
A Facebook page has been set up to concentrate communication of these efforts – S.O.S. BOCCIA UKRAINE and a donation page has been set up for those who are able to contribute financial help – Help for Ukrainians wheelchair athletes | Donio.
We would like to thank our members in the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Israel, Hungary, Poland, Germany and Portugal for all their efforts in helping Ukraine’s Boccia athletes. Efforts continue to get all to safety.
