This is an open letter to all manufacturers of boccia balls inviting applications to become a World Boccia Approved Equipment Supplier for 2025-2028

Introduction

To continue one of the key objectives of World Boccia to ensure that athletes who compete in international competition are able to do so on an equal basis (including having access to the same equipment and in particular to boccia balls, the International Federation will continue with licensing the balls that are used at World Boccia’s sanctioned competition. The Boccia Rules will reflect this continuity and little changes will be implemented in the next quadrennial.

The new contract with the manufacturer will be put in place for January 2025. If a manufacturer’s licence is not renewed from the 2022-2024 cycle, athletes who use balls from that manufacturer may only continue to use previously approved balls for the first year of the new Paralympic cycle and ending on December 31st 2025.
