The Croatian government has today (Friday March 13th) officially communicated its decision to postpone all sporting events in the Republic of Croatia until further notice as a measure to control the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.

The Host Organising Committee, the Croatian Paralympic Committee and BISFed support the decision to prioritize the health and well-being of athletes, staff and all other participants – as well as the general public – as the number one priority.

BISFed would like to thank the HOC for their hard work and is convinced that the Zagreb Competition would have been a success. Both organisations will now work together to evaluate the possibility of organising the event at a later date.

BISFed continues to keep a close watch on the developing situation and will communicate any news on other competitions in our calendar as soon as possible. The International Paralympic Committee is working on how to manage the question of classification for athletes who were expecting to be classified at events which have been cancelled or postponed and we will communicate on this subject as soon there is a decision.
